David Seibert received his early fine art training in painting and sculpture at an Artist Guild in New England, and later at Rhode Island School of Design. He worked as an illustrator and designer in New England, gradually devoting more time to painting. His influences include Anders Zorn, Sorolla, John Singer Sargent and the early California artists William Ritschel and Edgar Payne. He has learned from accomplished artist Richard Schmid and other contemporary master artists.

He was a painting and drawing instructor at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Westport Art Group. He was a founding member and chairman of the Sandywoods Gallery in Rhode Island. Along with creating work for galleries, he has completed numerous commissioned works for private collectors and corporations.

In 2013, inspired by the same area that beckoned noted early California artists William Ritschel and Armin Hansen, he moved West after being awarded an Artist Residency at Whiskeytown National Park in 2013. He exhibited his work in a gallery he co-founded with another artist in Carmel, California from 2015 - 2018.

His most recent work has been created along the Central California Coast and mountains continuing the practice of painting on location and creating larger works in the studio.

The Artist is available for commissioned works for private and public collections.
