Benjamin Anderson is a painter, designer, and printmaker from Monterey, California. His Bay Area plein air paintings in abstraction and realsim have been a large part of his work. Holding a BFA in painting and printmaking from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a MFA from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Benjamin was born in the Northeast, and has lived in many different regions of the United States. He maintains strong ties and familiarity with the visuals of the Bay Area of California, which he finds inspiring. He has been sponsored for artist residencies, juried into national shows, and has combined his love of music and painting into solo exhibitions on the West Coast.

As part of his independent successes as a fine artist, Ben is a strong believer in the open-minded philosophy of learning for life.

My work represents a familiarity that I have with the landscape of Northern California. As in music, where two genres are fused to create a hybrid (i.e., Afro-Cuban and Brazilian jazz), creating a conversation and fusion between the familiar and unfamiliar perspectives in landscape will create new fusion perspective works in painting.
